NW Regional Conference
This was held on Saturday 12th November at De Vere Hotel, Herons Reach, Blackpool
This years conference was focused on how to build a stronger voice for better diabetes care. In attendance will be Richard Lane our President, Frank Moxon a Trustee, Paul Watkins Director of Engagement and John Bodenham Director of fundraising, the workshops focused on the Media, Volunteers, Diabetes Voices and Fundraising,which resulted in interesting discussions and proved to be a very interesting and informative day out
Adopt a Project
The Ribble Valley Group are pleased to support Dr Mirela Delibegovic at the University of Aberdeen into her research into the role the liver and protien PTP1B play in the resistance to insulin in obesity.It is hoped that in the future Dr Delibegovic or one of her collegues will attend the group to give us an update on the progress of the project

Diabetes Newsletter
Early in the New Year the East Lancashire PCT will be producing a Diabetic Newsletter to be distributed to all registered diabetics in the area,

Diabetes UK Road Show Bus.
The Road Show Bus will be visiting our area in Hyndburn -20th-21st August, Burnley 3rd-4th September and Pendle 20th-21st September - final details later
The last event was a huge sucess in raising the profile of Diabetes and we hope this event will be a bigger and better one.
